The name's cksquire2003 or better know as cksmith08 on YouTube, Vine, Parachute and Twitter. It has been years since I started using Deviantart again and it's because I was busy with Work, Home and amongst other things. But now that I have the free time at this point, I can now finally address something that I wanted to get off my chest before Thanksgiving Break. Not just for me but for those who are Going on Thanksgiving Vacation to spend time with Friends and Families.

What's this subject? Well It's nothing bad but something that I have been hearing about on and on and on and on and if I keep this up I might get a bottle of Aleve or Advil. But anyways...

The subject at hand is Sailor Moon English Dub or English Adaptation.

I wanted to post it on YouTube but I figured why discuss something on a social media Site like YouTube when can just express it in writing?

Now for those of you who grew up in the 80s ad 90s like I have (Hell I was born in 1973 for cryin' out loud) There was an anime that was airing on Prime Time TV and Cartoon Network Toonami in the afternoons called Sailor Moon. Or as it was known as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon or Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. It was a show about a young Teenage girl in Japan named Usagi Tsukino or Serena. She was found by a talking cat named Luna and she explained to Usagi that she was looking for the Moon Princess (Who turned out to be Usagi) and Chose her to stop Queen Beryl and the Negaverse. So Usagi transforms into the Soldier of Love and Justice Sailor Moon.

So what does this have to do with the argument? Everything.

I see a few videos including the one from a YouTuber named Sailormoontube11 aka Duane Skip McAllen (Since he's also a Sailor Moon fan as well as WWE, Power Rangers, Buffy, Xena, Etc.) that pretty much explains Why people hate the Sailor Moon English Adaptation.

Now apart from his use of misspelled Titles, There are some things I do agree on. First of all, The arguments to what they say about hating the English Adaptation of Sailor Moon is Out of wack or #TooStoopid. However there are points I do have to address. It's True that when DIC and Cloverway made the English adaptation, (With the exception of the final one: Sailor Stars) They had to do a hell of a lot of editing, Such as Sexual innuendos, Homosexuality (Example Zoicite to be a girl instead of a guy, Haruka and Michiru as Cousins instead of Lesbians and of course The Amazon Trio) and the Violence (Such as Sailor Moon being slapped by Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars) As well as the Name Changes and the Senshi attack names (Example: Jupiter Thunder Clap Zap was changed from Supreme wide Pressure).

to Start off: Voice acting

I have to say there are a lot of compelling arguments that made sense and some that don't. I do agree with the Changing of the voice actresses as well as the voice acting from Cloverway. The DIC version was spot on. Tracey Moore and Terri Hawkes were tremendous as Sailor Moon/Usagi which I have to give props. Terri's voice sound More like a Klutzy valley Girl in my opinion. Linda Ballentyne's Voice of Serena was terrible that she sounds like a wannabe or a copycat version of Terri Hawkes. That's It. Cloverway I want me sanity back please.

Next the Heavy editing:

Yes, there were arguments about how they were edited like toning down violence, cutting out explicit scenes here and there as well as changing the names to fit the standards for younger audiences. (And this was before 4Kids Entertainment when they were ruining it with their edits *coughs* Yu-Gi-Oh *Coughs*) However you gotta realize who it was suppose to target to. The Kids. The Young Audience between ages 5-12. I mean why else Would people allow edits to fit the standards to a Younger audience?

To put it in a way of Super Cena's Voice: FOR THE KIDS. THE KIDS WANNA SEE SAILOR MOON. THE KIDS.

I mean if you are that serious in liking the original Japanese versions of Sailor Moon, Then by all means I don't have a problem with it. There are people that liked the DIC/Cloverway version of Sailor Moon because they grew up with the names of the characters and such. And there are some who were also Hardcore Sailor Moon Fans that likes both.

Besides There's always the Sailor Moon Re-dubbed DVDs that are Made by Viz Entertainment. Not only will it be uncut for your viewing enjoyment but also Re-dubbed from the original Series. One thing SAILORMOONTUBE11 failed to mention on the VIZ DVD version of Sailor Moon and soon Sailor Moon Crystal, there were new Voice actress portraying the characters making it 10 times better than DIC and Cloverway combined (I refuse to say Pioneer due to the fact that it was distributed to Home Video with the title during the closing credits.)

There's also words of the same cast who will do the dubbed voices for Sailor Moon Crystal that will also be on Hulu and DVD including Sandy Fox to voice Chibi Usa.

To wrap this up: Sailor Moon Fans Be thankful and mindful for what you like and your own opinion. Just be Happy with both versions of Sailor Moon. They're like 2 sides of a coin with one or the other.
